30th November 2008 Some months ago we featured a 1960’s publication on a visit to the Lola Factory.
Now Ian Tilleray brings us more 60’s memorabilia – ‘Castrol Achievments’.
Featured on the front cover of the 1969 edition of
‘CASTROL ACHIEVEMENTS’
are Sid Taylors Lola T70 MklllB and the Epstein Cuthbert Lola T142 Formula 5000 car.
In attendance were Phil Bradford from Sid Taylors Team and Malcolm Malone with the T142.
Despite the caption writers confusion between Lola and McLaren, the ‘big banger’ page has
some
rare images from the era of muscular sports and single seater racing cars.
The ever present glamour of Motor sport.
We wonder if Sid’s crew managed to smuggle the
delightful Viki home to Birmingham in the
back of the transporter.
