The last Mk4 chassis to be built had additional paneling riveted to the chassis and had fabricated front uprights similar to the Lotus 25 design. It was described as a semi-monocoque and given the MK4A type number although the Lola Chassis Log has it as a Mk4. Sadly by the time it arrived there wasn't the wherewithal to develop it, it only raced three times in 1962 and although it took a 1st and a 3rd it was in non-championship races with weak fields. The Mk4A continued into 1963 but was no longer competitive.
