One of the first T70s to race in the USA was the Mecom Racing Team car driven by John Cannon and Jack Saunders.

Lou Galanos has sent us the great photo below of the Mecom T70 at Sebring. The Mecom racing Team T70 SL70/3 made its debut at the 1965 Sebring 12 Hours on the 27th March, it was driven by Canadian sometime F1 BRM driver John Cannon and the American Jack Saunders. Mecom entered the T70 alongside a pair of Ferraris, a 250LM and a 330P, the T70 qualified 6th but retired after 55 lpas with an oil cooler problem.

The car then competed in USRRC races driven by Walt Hansgen at Pensacola and Laguna Seca.
