Following the success of the T200 Lola introduced the T202 for 1971. There were only a few minor changes to the design, at the front the inboard pick-up for the lower wishbone was altered to add anti-dive to suspension geometry and the welded rearward braces for the roll-hoop were replaced by a removable brace that was attached to the rear crossmember which added some stiffness.
With such minor changes that could be applied in an update to the T200 it is not surprising that Lola only built 17 cars, 16 of which went to the USA.
