There are no details of the T299 in the Lola Heritage Archives, one chassis was built in 1981 and supplied to Heini Mader (as Lola's European agent). It was fitted with a Hewland FT200 gearbox whereas all the other T290 series used the FG400 and then the FGA. Since the FT200 was only rated suitable for engines rated at 200 ft/lb whilst the other two were rated at 280 fl/lb it would perhaps indicate a smaller than 2-litre engine was planned.
It was raced in the European Hillclimb Championship from 1981 to 1985 when it was driven by Italians Domenico Scola and Paolo Gargano. In later years it is likely that it appeared in the Spanish Hillclimb Championship.
